HydroTech In-House OverviewThe HydroTech Hard Surface Cleaning Revolution Today’s structures and facilities continue to be made of the oldest building materials known to man - and we’re still cleaning and maintaining them with the same ancient methods handed down through the ages! Is your facility or maintenance crew, still stuck with hands-and-knees scrubbing, mopping, and filthy water in their buckets? You no longer need to be stuck in a time warp! Join 21st century cleaning technology with the HydroTech equipment and chemical line! U.S. Dept. of Commerce statistics clearly establish that commercial and industrial buildings are installing hard surface flooring--ceramic, limestone, pavers, saltillo, marble, granite, along with a variety of safety mattings. The reason for this is simple: The economics of more durable floorings are being increasingly understood both by builders and property managers, in industrial as well as commercial applications. Costs are greatly reduced where hard surfaces are installed. Hygienic and safety concerns, along with indoor air quality in today’s commercial buildings, are increasingly becoming significant factors when selecting flooring choices. These are only a handful of reasons why we see a noticeable shift taking place in favor of tile and other hard and semi-hard flooring. And certainly, in addition to practical issues, hard surfaces provide beauty and variety both to interior and exterior décor that carpeting just doesn’ t offer. Historically, hard surface maintenance consisted of maintaining supermarket-type flooring with buffer-brush stripping, buffer-brush scrubbing, buffer- brush waxing, and buffer- brush polishing. Unfortunately, this type of cleaning and servicing is not only abrasive to the surface, it just doesn’t get the dirt out. These methods are also completely ineffective and inappropriate for irregular surfaces, fine ceramic tile and marble, or safety matting. If you’ve been unfortunate enough to attempt this type of cleaning on an irregular surface, as well as certain hard surfaces, you’ve already experienced enough headache. In recognition of these and a myriad of additional issues, HydroTechnologies, Inc. (”HydroTech”) has developed new standards and technologies exclusively for use in the hard and semi-hard surface cleaning industry—read on about the HydroTech revolution! HydroTech uses a new approach to these old problems by creating a “Clean & Capture”™ System of customized tools, a powerful portable power unit, and specially formulated chemicals. All HydroTech tools are engineered from the finest quality material, designed for use with our powerful HydroTech “Clean & Capture”™ HT-1500 Portable extractor unit. In addition, HydroTech maintenance chemicals are non-acidic and specifically formulated by HydroTech to work with hot or cold water. HydroTech gives you that edge! Your facilities will set standards for cleanliness that others will only dream of. HydroTech can also help you by customizing a maintenance program that suits your facility’s specific and unique needs. HydroTech Is Designed Exclusively For Hard & Semi-hard Surface Maintenance & RestorationOver the years, one of the more laborious cleaning jobs have been mopping and cleaning hard surface floors (especially grout). Today’s maintenance/restoration industry really hasn’t progressed much beyond soapy buckets and messy mops. You already know that vinyl, ceramic tile, and especially grout all require an intense amount of time and effort to clean, and most efforts have not yielded results you wanted, especially considering the amount of intensive labor required. Adding to this insult, the cost of hiring outside contractors can be very expensive, and often involves scheduling difficulties. As you also know, the amount of carpeting being installed in commercial settings is dramatically on the decrease, especially in new construction as well as in remodels; instead, consumers are choosing more stylized, durable flooring such as ceramic, porcelain, vinyl, marble, granite, and many other types of both natural and artificial hard surfaces. This increase in hard and semi-hard surface flooring has created a shortage of qualified professionals who possess the ability to effectively clean and maintain these varied surfaces, while still being able to offer services at affordable prices. The old methods are not satisfactory in that they cannot reach trapped dirt and bacteria. Hard and semi-hard surfaces are usually porous, textured, irregular, or a combination thereof. A mop is not capable of removing micro- entrapped dirt and bacteria, and even spreads the filth over the entire surface. Power scrubbing yields better results that with the mop and bucket, but dirt and bacteria still remain because the bristles are large and can’t penetrate and clean the small crevices and the irregular surfaces where dirt hides. Even vinyl, typically replaced when it becomes scratched and dulled, has dirt driven deep into its scratches and micro-abrasions that mops and scrubbers can’t remove. The development of new technologies used by HydroTech, for the removal of grime, dirt, bacteria, and unwanted odors has solved this centuries’ old technique of cleaning hard and semi-hard surfaces, and provides you with state-of-the-art stripping ability. HydroTech has developed a new family of tools, a powerful portable extractor unit, and chemicals that have revolutionized hard and semi-hard surface cleaning and restoration. The HydroTech system uses highly pressurized water injection (adjustable 200-1500 psi), with specially formulated chemicals and high-powered extraction to reduce multi-task, repetitive steps, and which reduces labor up to 60%. Most of our tools are ergonomically designed to maximize productivity by using the operator’s natural body motion to achieve superior performance while reducing fatigue. We have also designed thoughtful and cost-saving safety features in the “Clean & Capture”™ HT-1500 extractor unit to protect your investment from unauthorized usage and damage. HydroTech and The Booming MarketAccording to figures reported by U.S. Customs and the U.S. Department of Commerce, ceramic tile sales in the U.S. increased 61.5% from 915,806,000 to 1,4768,000 square feet per year in the five-year period between 1991 to 1996. The increase in 1996 was 9.8%, and it has been averaging a healthy 7% increase per year through 2001. This increase reflects quantities of tile sold in excess of 2 billion square feet to the year 2000. This means more than a doubling of the market within the past 10 years ! Phenomenal Industry GrowthWhat is causing such increased demand for advanced cleaning and maintenance of tile and hard surfaces? One explanation is the now well known impact of baby boomer’s preferences in both the building and remodeling industries. Much of the tile sold in the U.S. goes into residential applications, remodeling in particular. Other forces driving up demand include easier maintenance, more cost effectiveness of tile relative to its product life, the ability of achieving a superior degree of sanitation, more choices in design aesthetics, the availability of new styles and materials, and an increasing consumer awareness in product versatility. HydroTech Tools and HydroTech ChemicalsThe HydroTech program is easy to use! The first step is to pre-spray the designated area with HydroTech High PSI Tile and Grout Cleaner, the HydroTech High PSI Hard Surface Stripper, or a specific HydroTech chemical chosen for a particular hard or semi-hard surface. After spraying, the chemicals are allowed a short dwell time in which to loosen surface dirt and grime. Next, the appropriate HydroTech tool is selected for the job:
Attach the desired tool to your HydroTech “Clean & Capture”™ HT-1500 Portable extractor unit (adjustable 200 psi to 1500 psi water injection, with immediate vacuum extraction). The portable unit allows you the maximum in “go- anywhere” versatility, with auto-fill, auto-dump design, chemical feed features, a built-in outlet for the ProRaceR® large area floor tool, and, with the dual vacuum extraction 158” water lift, over-spray is eliminated. Once your tool is selected and attached, the operator glides it over the floor, countertop, shower walls, pool deck, safety areas, kitchen equipment, etc. All the hidden dirt, grime and filth are powered out of the porous pockets and crevices of your grout, textured ceramics, concrete, stone, vinyl, rubber matting, and extracted for safe disposal down a drain line. The filth is gone, not merely re-distributed! Grout blackened with time is immediately restored to its original color! The results you achieve in addition to an exceptionally clean surface, are customer satisfaction and admiration, along with the appreciation of your executive management. For the first time in years, you can now see the original color of the grout and flooring! (We even have special grout colorants you can apply to change existing grout colors if you are ready for a renovation). Vinyl floors that once were dull and possibly ready for the dumpster now have new life! Safety matting need not be thrown out and replaced, reducing your facility’s costs.
